4 of 6 post-op chemos completed!!! YAY!!!

Last Thursday’s treatment was the quickest, smoothest-flowing session to date. Since I’m not really an ICU patient, some of the nurses relax their procedures with me a bit, like not pricking my fingers to check blood sugar as much and ‘loosing my tether’ so I can get up to go to the bathroom without them coming to disconnect me from all the monitors, etc. The tumor marker, CA125, lowered from 18 to 16 (below 30 is normal). My blood counts were good causing my heart rate not to be a bit high like the previous time. Besides returning home promptly on Friday, the best part was NO BLOOD WAS DRAWN the whole time…

What is more, I don’t need to go to the lab to monitor COUmadin dose until Sept. 28. One whole month!

It “feels” good to be on the down side of the mountain.

Heb 4:15 For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. (ASV)

(I will) Sing a song of hope sing along

God of heaven come down heaven come down

Just to know that You are near is enough

God of heaven come down heaven come down

And He did (come down).

There’s not much more debilitating than to face an unchangeable situation with the sense that no one understands or supports you. But, we have the assurance that God indeed understands. He walked in our footsteps. He hasn’t abandoned us. He is willing and able to act on our behalf. And in the fullness of time (i.e. Gal. 4:4) He will put His plan into action.

In the movie Bruce Almighty, a mere mortal is endowed with God’s daunting task of handling the world’s problems and answering prayer. Chaos ensues as he grants everyone’s contradictory requests. Since God created an orderly universe, He has a schematic for running the system He created and does not implement haphazard plans. We can rest in the confidence that Jehovah Jireh has “seen ahead” and made provision, thus relieving us of the responsibility of working things out on our own.

Now on to the task at hand of finding new owners for some really cool, vintage estate items left by an elderly relative!
